Thanks for looking, here's a viable contender for the most versatile fully rugged computer, it's a serious competitor to the Panasonic CF-30 ToughBook's reign as the ultimate fully rugged notebook; it's the General Dynamic's ITRONIX XR-1, which recently arrived into our inventory.   The unit comes FULLY LOADED with the Intel® Core™ Duo T2400, 1.83 GHz processor. This fully loaded notebook has a sensitive touchscreen. The unit also has a very sensitive on-board (built-in) GPS receiver system with a weather protected high gain Di-electrically loaded high performance quadrifilar helix antenna system that has specifications which others could only hope to equal, let alone surpass.   We've included an internal DVD R/RW multidrive and a 120GB hard drive for full versatility. The unit also has a built-in (on board) Intel 3945 802.11 a/b/g Wireless WiFi card and we've maximized the ram memory to 4GB.   The unit can be equiped with 2 (two) seperate ON-BOARD (embedded) WWAN cards for the ultimate in totally uninterrupted Internet coverage.   The XR-1 General Dynamic's full-sized NiteVue™ 'glow-in-the-dark' keyboard is actually viewable in the Dark, an awesome feature. Most manufacturers such as Panasonic use an integrated on-board graphics card in thier ruggedized notebooks.   We love Panasonic ToughBooks; however, Itronix has thought of everything in the overall design of this rugged XR-1 notebook computer - it is a delight to use!   This unit has a few very minor marks that are hardly noticeable and do not alter the operational capability of the unit, however, we need to mention them. The actual screen of the unit is in great condition, and found to be free of scratches and marks when closely inspected.
