RAID: When, why and how? 90% of all computers we build are RAID systems - we tech support this better then anyone since we know how to do it!  I have been building Dual RAID systems for over 3 years. What is RAID 10?  Why use 2 different hard drives? How do you configure different HDD configurations and why?  Do I need 10k HDD and will it do anything for me? What is the alternative to RAID that is simpler and easier for the less technically inclined computer user? Ask me I have been building them for years!   Single loop cooling system show below - with special low restriction blocks email us! While limited water cooling is included (cpu only), I thought I would touch on a few things! Mini lesson on coolant: Water Cooling vs Liquid Cooling, there are 2 types of coolant. The first is water based, these liquids are essentially water or 95-99% water, typically they have anti-corrosion additives, anti-freeze additives, surfactants (wetting agents), and coloring agents - this is water cooling! The second group are non-water base, these are typically  made from organics such as food based oils (organic blends), they are naturally non-corrosive and the biggest advantage is they are non-conductive and may have significantly lower freezing temperatures.  The main advantage is they are less likely to damage electronics if there is a leak (generally water based are non-conductive since they do not have conductive (dissolved) ions), they generally are more expensive and may have many side effects! Note: distilled water is generally non conductive even with 440v let alone 12v! If you system comes with the swiftech H20-120 please email me about coolant specifics! We use water based coolant, you get better cooling and less issues but we can use both! Mini lesson on blocks: We use both restrictive and non-restrictive blocks, while this is very complicated its pretty simple. When you have many cooling blocks and 1 pump you want low restriction blocks so they last parts in the loop do not over heat! When you have a dual loop system with only 1 or 2 blocks on the circuit you want restrictive blocks for great heat transfer. A low restriction block in a high flow system will actually result in higher temps, just as too much restriction in a long cooling loop will cause high temperatures in the last parts. The H20-120 compact is designed for a low restriction block and  low pressure pump. Mini lesson on pumps: We stock up to 10 types of pumps for testing and installation. We only use the best pumps and the quiet pumps, with long life. Many of the top of the line pumps can not be run dry, they will quickly burn up if ran with out water - the better more powerful pumps are must be kept wet. We generally use 2  pump the Laing D5, this is the best pump for long circuits and the Laing DDC-1. The D5 is a beastly 50psi for long circuits, while the DDC-1 is smaller cute but strong 20 psi babe good for short loops! The Swifttech H20-120 compact uses the DDC-1 or equivalent!
